Keeping up with classes and everything else thanks to Bednet and ClassContact

What is the Front Row?

The Front Row is an initiative by the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) in collaboration with Bednet and ClassContact. They make sure that children who are unable to attend school due to health issues don’t get sidelined. Thanks to an ingenious digital education system they can take their classes from a distance. In this way sick children can not only keep up with their classes but with all the rest as well.

And the rest is also important. That is why Front Row was created. It gives these children a unique platform where they can now follow the training sessions of the Belgian Red Devils. In an exciting first, Belgian Red Devils Axel Witsel, Michy Batshuayi, Youri Tielemans and Simon Mignolet were fitted with a camera on their chest to give these children a front row seat. And this from the comfort of their couch!

Moreover, Eden Hazard is also keeping an eye on the training sessions from his own sofa. He was recently diagnosed with Covid-19 and is therefore unable to attend training physically. This way he can be present after all.

Bednet (NL) and ClassContact (FR) are very pleased with the initiative.  Bednet’s general manger Mathieu Tallon explains:

“This initiative helps parents and children find their way to Bednet and ClassContact. Due to amongst others Covid-19, more and more vulnerable children are forced to take classes from home. Applications are up by 62% compared to last year. That is why we are launching an appeal to support us. Our aim is to give every child that is entitled to our assistance the opportunity to call on our services.”

What do Bednet and ClassContact do?

Bednet and ClassContact make sure that sick children and youngsters who are temporarily unable to attend school still get a seat in the classroom from home. This way they can keep up and still see their friends.

Bednet and ClassContact establish a live connection between the child and its classmates, who can see the child on the computer screen at the back of the classroom. The child can operate a camera and follow the classes and/or talk to its classmates via a camera it can operate from home.

This gives the children the feeling they are a part of things without too many limitations.

What‘s more, What‘s more, 9 in 10 children make it through to the next year without repeating.

Why the Belgian Red Devils?

In 2018 the Belgian Red Devils chose to become ambassadors of Bednet and ClassContact. They personally committed to this social partnership and have recently put these organisations in the picture in their communication. The #FrontRow action concludes this wonderful partnership.

Eden Hazard, captain of the Belgian Red Devils:

“As a group we can’t wait to put our best foot forward for all sick children in Belgium. It’s fantastic to have organisations such as Bednet and ClassContact that help them stay in touch with their classmates and teachers!”
